About Digital Photography Classes

By: Yousef Issa

The hobby of Photography is a very interesting, it can include allot of fun especially when you use the digital camera to capture some sport event or some action. It just needs to invest a little bet of your time practicing on using it, and its going to be easy to you to make interesting shots wherever you go.

In the beginning, you must take a look at the manual of your camera and study some points about the digital camera that you have just to insure that you're familiar with some of the main features in your camera that you well need to photograph your subjects. Take a look at the manual to know the feature in your camera your camera. When you study shutter speed from the manual you well be able to shoot any subjects and control the aperture settings like the automatic. Knowing this information is necessary because, you may need to photograph some subject and capture this subject in motions. If you pot the camera on the manual setting enables you to modify the setting just using this way you can change the appearance of the 'movement' in the images

How to Freeze Motion?

A little bet of practice is what you want to do that, photographing some shot and 'freeze' the mid-air. An example of that is the car racing. During this race you well see cars driving in front of you, you can see them in crazy action hitting the flying in the air for seconds, and hitting the ground hardly. In these moments where the car is in the air and just before hitting the ground is a great moment to capture with your camera. To do that go and take a look at the manual, check the speed of the shutter if the camera is in automatic shooting. If it is at 1/125th of a second, then you don't need to change the shutter speed manually. There are some types of digital camera that can adjust the speed automatically for the fast action without any extra programming on your part. Anyway, if you find that you have to adjust the shutter speed to a faster one in order to properly 'freeze' the action of the cars racing, look for the Shutter Priority mode on your camera then manually adjust the shutter speed to 1/250th.

When you do that, the camera will automatically adjust the aperture. When the car you are photographing is in the upward arc of motion, it will seem motionless for about a split-second. If you manage to peel off a shot during this time, you will freeze the motion of your subject. If the bump or dip is particularly deep or large, the car will catch quite a bit of 'air,' and you will see all four wheels in the air at once, which is a beautiful thing to catch. There another thing to do, set your digital camera on 'continuous shooting' mode, that well allow the shutter to fire several times in fast succession. When you the camera to continuous mode, the camera will adjust the aperture and shutter speed automatically, saving you a step of going to shutter speed priority mode.

During the continuous shooting mode, if you start shooting right as the cars enters the dip or bump area, you should capture its progress throughout the entire process, and each of your frames will record the cars stopped at each point of in the race over the bump or dip. It well is a great surprise for you when you take a look at the images that capture with your own, you well see how beautifully 'frozen' in time your action photos are. Stop action is the most common and very easy technique in photographing action sports. Look at the sport section in the newspaper, and see if there are any photos of basketball or football players in action. You will notice that the players seem to be frozen these photos.

There is something else about stopped action. It depends on where you are, and the shooting conditions available, you may need to use your flash to aid in your 'action-stopping' image capturing process. You probably don't need to use the flash in outdoor racing of any sort, whether it is car, motorcycle, horse, or greyhound racing, will practically never need the use of a flash,. Light is not an issue in most cases of outdoor sports. However, using the camera indoors, in this case you might need to use the. During using the camera indoors you need to be closer to your objects.
