For those of you who are thinking about green coffee beans which you can then roast yourself in order to make great cups of coffee with there are certain factors which need to be taken into consideration. Below we take a look at what these factors are.

The first factor that should be taken into consideration when selecting the green coffee beans, which you wish to roast for yourself, is the actual appearance of them. Any beans that you select for roasting should be of a uniform shape and size. This is important to ensure that throughout the roasting process there is uniformity in the way each bean roasts. This in turn ensures that the taste you get from the roasted beans is consistent also.

As well as making sure the beans have a similar appearance to them you need to look closely at the color of them. Again it is better to go with those beans that look very similar in color and if there is any unevenness between the beans then avoid them. Often this has been caused by their being a problem when they are being dried. If you choose beans which have the same color and tone to them you will find that the coffee you make after they have been roasted will taste similar each time that they are used.

The next factor which needs to be taken into consideration is where the beans have actually been grown. There are a number of different countries that now produce coffee beans which they dry and then sell in their unroasted format or which have been roasted. There are a number of countries which grow and produce these kinds of beans, but the mains ones are Guatemala, Costa Rica and Columbia. Yet as with coffee beans which contain caffeine depending on where they have been grown they will come with their own distinct flavor to.
