Chevrolet Houston was the most searched for car in Houston. Almost 257,000 people searched for Chevrolet Houston last month. This puts Chevrolet squarely above its Japanese rivals: Toyota Houston and Honda Houston.

2. Ford Houston

Ford Houston comes in second on the list, with just over 215,000 searches. Ford was the number 5 car in Los Angeles. With Chevrolet Houston and Ford Houston running in the number 1 and 2 spots on the Houston list, it's clear that if you want to be in the in-crowd you'll want to drive a domestic car.

3. Houston Toyota

As mentioned, both Houston Chevrolet and Ford Houston lead Toyota Houston. But if your looking for a Japanese-made automobile in the heartland, that's OK. You've got plenty of company. Just under 170,000 people searched for Toyota Houston last month.

4. Houston Honda

Honda Houston is the second most searched Japanese car in Houston. There were a little more than 145,000 searches for Honda Houston. It trails Toyota in most major cities, but it is still a good solid car.

5. Houston Nissan

Compared to Los Angeles, Nissan Houston is up four spots, coming in fifth in searches. Nissan Houston was searched approximately 120,000 times. That's much better than it's showing in Nissan Los Angeles searches.

6. BMW

Sixth is BMW Houston. About 110,000 car shoppers searched for BMW's in Houston. This is less than half the number of people who searched for BMW Los Angeles. BMW Houston's lower spot on this list indicates that people from this great city don't drive as flashy cars as in Los Angeles.

7. Dodge

The third American-made car on the list is Dodge Houston with just about 100,000 searches. Compared to its tenth place in L.A., Dodge Houston makes a solid showing here.

8. Houston Mercedes Benz

Just over 82,000 people searched for Mercedes Benz Houston in the past month. This is a good show in a city that values practicality over showiness. Mercedes Benz Houston does offer a variety of cars to fit into varying budgets.

9. Lexus

Toyota's luxury division, Lexus Houston, gathered almost 68,000 votes. This puts it squarely in the number 9 spot, two spots down from the L.A. list. If you're looking for a snazzy ride without the steep price tag of other upscale automobiles then choose Lexus Houston.

10. Cadillac

Cadillac Houston is a new comer to the top 10 list. It is an American-built luxury automobile: showing once again that Houston prefers domestic to foreign. Just over 61,000 people searched for Cadillac Houston last month.

Use this Top 10 List to figure out what cars people prefer in Houston. Often the majority knows what's best. But if you don't want to be one of the crowd, look to one of the lower ranking vehicles.
