The Relationship between Losing Weight and Green Tea

By: Jill Johnson

We all know that green tea is something of a natural wonder drug. Since it works as an antioxidant, it is most useful to anyone committed to improving general health and losing weight in the most efficient manner. Medical research continues on all the ways that this wonderful and complex herb helps the human body. You can, of course, simply drink this delicious beverage or else buy green tea extracts in tablet or liquid form.

One of the major benefits to the human body's functions is the abilities to speed up cell regeneration and slow the process of oxidation in the body; these serve to guard your body against aging. Most weight control products using green tea rely on the laxative and toxin excretion properties of the green tea that will speed up the rate at which your body burns fuel. Increasing the fuel burning, or metabolic rate, will prevent fatty tissue (which is in reality excess calories) from forming.

Of course, using green tea alone will not cause weight loss. It is instead part of a strong commitment to a healthier lifestyle involving positive changes in diet, attitude and exercise. But once the commitment is made, green tea is something you can give your body right away to help speed your journey to good health and weight loss.

If you drink your green tea, you should enjoy it in the evening as part of your bedtime ritual. For a few days after first starting this regimen, some may notice a bit of mild bowel and stomach discomfort as the body adjusts to its faster metabolic rate. This is a normal and temporary effect. You will begin to see positive effects within a week as long as you stick to your program of taking in lots of fluids, eating vegetables, and exercising moderately.

Green tea is often combined with ginseng root to contribute nutrients so vital for a detoxification period. When you combine the two supplements you get a mixture that is proven to be more effective than either item separately. Ginseng is called the root of like in Tibet and China, it has vitamins and minerals that the body needs for this detoxification that is taking place during your weight loss diet.

When combined with green tea, ginseng produces a noticeable effect in someone trying to lose weight as it supports the immune system when it is stressed, serves as a valuable source of energy, and is safe to take with green tea even during programs of up to 26 weeks.
