Ways To Get Rid Of Stretch Marks

By: Shauna Moline.

How do you remove stretch marks (arguably one of a females most common physical ailments)? Stretch marks aren't just a bane of gals though, men suffer them too. To put it simply, if you have gotten hefty or slimmed down rapidly at any point in time, got into lifting weights, or given birth then you have most likely been involved with stretch marks at some time in your life.

Some people, unfortunately, are just so embarrassed about stretch marks and distressed by them, they begin to camouflage the affected places - it can't be healthy for anyone to feel they have to do that, instead you need to aggressively target the issue. Stretch marks are a sore issue, there is no easy way to put it, but not taking action and letting them pick what you wear just isn't the best solution to repairing the situation at hand - it's your health and you must maintain it as best you can.

Getting rid of stretch marks can be an expensive business, there are new techniques and methods being advertised all of the time, so how do you know what works best? Microdermabrasion or laser surgery are often used as last resorts, and aren't cheap methods to employ. Yet there are other ways to do it safely and healthily while improving your body as you go along.

The purchase of Stretch mark removal creams and lotions designed specifically for treating stretch marks are one method most people use, but you can also make your own lotions by purchasing vitamin E tablets and taking daily or the capsules containing the oil themselves - break them open and rub them gently onto the affected area.

One of the great benefits of having a stretch mark cream is the freedom to cure your stretch marks from the privacy of your home. Remember though, applying the cream whenever you feel like it will not benefit you as much as applying it at the right times. The right times are times when your skin is in a more absorbent state, such as immediately after a bath or shower. Following this rule will ensure maximum delivery of the cream and help promote quicker healing of your stretch marks.

You see, most of the time creams and lotions don't penetrate the first layer of your skin, but after a bath or shower your pores are open more and the lotion can sink down further into the skin, promoting greater healing and more effectively removing those tough stretch marks.

One of the big reasons your skin gets unhealthy is what is on your plate. What you eat, and what you drink, can make the difference between healthy and unhealthy skin. It's a commonly accepted fact that the easiest way to prevent sunburn is drink more water, as opposed to the other "healthy" drinks. The same principle applies to the rest of your skin's health, including your fight against stretch marks.

I often hear people say that it's too late to fix their skin, but I always tell them that the skin cells below the surface aren't beyond repair, only the ones on top are. Starting a healthy diet, with the right kinds of food and vitamins and plenty of water, will dramatically increase your chances of regaining a healthy body and glowing skin. Will it happen before your date this weekend? No, but who can say no to creating a healthier you?
